She definitely has dropsy :( There are 2 causes for dropsy. One is a bacterial infection and can sometimes be cured with meds but a salt bath is the best route to go. The other is caused by kidney failure, which is incurable :( Quote from Bettatalk

You know your marble boy isnt a veiltail right? Look at the dorsal, there's definitely a lot of doubletail blood running through his veins. And see how the edges of his caudal fin are almost sharp, not curved? He's definitely a delta. Hes lovely though! I love your tanks!

Yupp you'll need a 5-10 gallon for breeding, I think 10 works the best, but I've seen it done in as small as 2 gallons! But you'll also need a 20-30 gallon for a growout!

If you really want to do a sorority make sure there are LOTS of hiding places for the females to escape from eachother. If your female is easily stressed it would probably be the best idea to move the other female in with her, it would be much less stressful then having a big old male flaring at her all the time. Take the fish out and drain the tank, it will be much easier to divide the tank and rearrange it...
