i just purchased a female betta from walmart. she has the horizontal stripes on her right now. should i fatten her up on bloodworms before i introduce her into the male's tank? will she be ready then? btw, he is currently in a 20 gallon tank that is about half way full. no bubbles or nothing...

mine really didnt like a strong current.

yeah...we were worried about something like that happening at first. but then came to the conclusion that the near centimeter thick glass was not in danger. i think i am lucky to have witnessed something like this take place. i wouldnt have believed it if i hadn't seen it myself.

one day my dad decides to drop a marble he found into the community tank. within days we could hear something tapping against the glass harder than the usual bump by the floating thermometer. we didn't know what to make of the whole thing until the obvious give away right underneath our noses...

i had one that never failed to get caught in the net. very fine spines on that fellow. if i remember correctly his spots either got bigger as he got older or faded for the most part.

i had a clown loach that come feeding time was the biggest bully in the tank. he would sprint to shrimp pellets then chase the larger bala sharks and silver dollars that stole his meal. I could actually hear the clown loach nip at the fins of other fish. quite an aggressive eater from my experience.

oh my betta is definately evil! it really irks me when i pass by his bowl and he begs and pleads for flakes...only to watch them sink to the bottom and refuse to touch it essentially shortening the life of his water. gurrrrrrr!!! hehe

I've seen these in my tank too. they are white, the longest ones i could find were only about 3mm, thin as a hair and wiggle wildly in free water. i dont know where they came from but no question about it they are there now. just about all the fish in the community enjoy hopping, skipping...
