    Sick Fish

They have spread. Originally they were just 1 spot and i didn't worry. And he is all alone in a 10 gallon, no one to attack him. No chlorine in the tank, always use dechlorinator. And his water quality is ok, no amonia or nitrite. I have live plants, and they seem to be growing kinda the...

    Sick Fish

My paradise fish has some sort of illness, and it looks like black spot parasites, but he has this black patterned stuff on his head that makes me think it might not be black spot. The black stuff on his head isn't too clear in the photos, but it kinda looks like fungus? I don't know, it isn't...

    Fave Fish

My paradise fish, he is the most personable little guy. I know he is boring compared to all the other fish everyone posted here, but he is like a little puppy in a tank :) so cute.

    Cycling….

The whole point of fishless cycling is to be able to add the maximum number of fish the tank will allow immediately to the tank, without having to slowly add fish and watch the levels. Also some people believe that subjecting the fish to a cycle is cruel, making it similar to a humans air...

Cheap Way To Set Up Betta Tank?

If you want to save the bettas from an existence in a small plastic cup, then don't buy them. If you buy them, the store owner will only buy more and inflict the same fate onto others. The more people buy fish subjected to these conditions, the more store owners will think its ok and continue...

Can You Help Me Identify This Problem?

I have a paradise fish, who I've had for about a month now. He is in a cycled,10 gallon all by his lonesome. About 2 weeks ago I noticed a black spot on his body, I watched it and it went away. I then went on vacation and now have come back, there is another spot on his body, and his lower...

    In Theory...

paradise fish do posses a laborynth organ, and do breath air, I'm am not sure about the extent that they use it. Cooler water can hold more oxygen than warmer water, so the betta may rely more heavily on their laborynth organ than the paradise fish.

    Pictures Of Mr. Betta

he lives in a pineapple under the sea!!!! he is really cute though :)

    In Theory...

In theory shouldn't paradise fish be more suited to unheated, smaller bowls/tanks, than bettas? A betta requires a warmer water temp, while paradise fish do very well in room tempurture, so wouldn't it makes sense because they are related, that a paradise fish would do much better in the...

    Just Out Of Curiosity...

That's probably a logical conclusion. I always thought it was something that someone wanting to reduce fish suffering would have advised, but its probably more likely a business wanted to reduce losses (and give easy to remember information to part-time employees) would have concocted.

    My Local Lfs

I worked in a pet store, and mostly worked cash (this was before i started keeping fish). Every once in a while someone would call in sick and i would have to work in a different department. Also I'm willing to bet most of the jobs in the pet store are part-time and held by teenagers. With a...

    Ghost Shrimp And Copper

I've kept cherry shrimp and I add Seachem Flourish along with some other ferts, and I've never had a problem. My shrimp are doing quite well. I never even thought about that before, I wouldn't even have known that's what had killed them if it had.
