Try blowing a fan across the top of the tank, which will hlep cool it off. Leave off the lights and leave the room dark, it will help calm the stressed out fish. Also (this is assuming you have tropical fish), turn your heater on to 26 or 27 degreese, to keep the temperature from wild swings...
