Are you sure it's not the beginning of dropsy? if its just his head then maybe he hit something sharp in the tank.

Just keep up with the water changes. All I ever do for my bettas with fin rot/bitten fins is just change their water + add aquarium salt. It does wonders.

If you're going to breed VT's, I wouldn't expect any specific colouring out of them. Their lines are probably all "mutt-ed" up that for all you know you could end up with like 1 orange betta with magical wings and like 10 purple ones with orange polkadots. If you have enough room, then go ahead...

Not sure about the colouring but if I remember right Pk x Vt = VTs with PK genes and for F2 you take one of those girlies and spawn them with dad and you'll get 50% Pks and 50% Vts, but don't take my word for it. I haven't had bettas for the longest time and I've forgotten so much :crazy:

Why would you spawn them if you bought them 15 minutes ago. You haven't conditioned them and just because you have the set up doesn't mean you have the baby food, grow out tanks, and all that ready. From what I see you aren't even halfway ready to spawn bettas. I suggest you take your male out...

Yeah adding to what everyone has said, you could basically find a VT that could've had a family tree such as: CT x Hm x PK x CT x DT x CT x HMPK x DT x Pk x Pk x Ct and all other possibilities but they'd still look like VTs because they've been mixed with so many different types of things.

=P you said angles and you meant ANGELS. They 90 degree thing is just referring to the typo you made :P funny story, my grade 4 teacher was testing her class on angles and stuff and one of the questions was "draw a right angle" and some little girl drew an angel and put an arrow next to it...

You should really never use frozen or any kind of preserved food for fry since they need moving things and such so they can actually notice and take interest in the food and live food is by far better than the dry powdered food you can get that pollutes the tank's water. But I'm sure you knew that
