I have returned the rocks to the store and replaced them with more of the other type. Interestingly I saw the same type in another store. They too suggested that they would not effect the PH. I wonder if they ever actually test them to see for themselves.

I have put vinegar on it and can see lots of small bubbles rising. It’s not exactly foaming but it is reacting. Ive tried taking a photo but it’s not easy to see.
