I have heard that one way to start the cycle is to use a shrimp (dead) and leave it in the tank to get the ammonia going. Anyone experience this? Thank you in advace

I boiled it for 3 hours yesterday and still leaked, today I am going to boil it for another 3 hours and hopefully that will do it, I never thought that it would take so much.

Thanks They do grow very big but my plan was to return him for a smaller one everytime he got too big, lol

Thank you I have 4 multi's that are 2 years old or so, nitrate 5 nitrite 0 amm 0 ph 8.0 temp 82 10 gallon he died to quick, within one hour of looking at him. He looked happy yesterday when I put him in the tank. ::

Hi, is it possible that my shelldwellers (multifasciatus) killed my pleco? I got him yesterday he was fine up untill one hour ago and all of a sudden I see him dead! It looked like one of the multifasiatis was aggressive earlier towards him thanks

Hi there, I bought a nice piece of mopani wood a few months ago and decided to not use it because after boiling it and keeping it in water for one month it still turned the water yellow, any suggestions as to what else to try to keep it from leaking tanin?
