NO!!! YOU NEVER ADD A PAIR OF CONVICTS TO ANYTHING BUT A AGGRESSIVE TANK ONLY!! and if anyone says you can, their very uneducated & unexperienced in the hobby.
as for adding one male, thats very different but NEVER add a female to the mix unless you WANT blood shed and stripped fins!
no where in your Tanganyikan list did you mention you have a Neolamprologus tretocephalus
you do realize they are extremely aggressive and can wipe out a tank of any lesser aggressives right?
 are you freaking serious???? do you not listen to what your being told?
buttikoferi are way too aggressive to be kept with other fish!!!!!!!!! that includes...cant believe I'm saying this..american cichlids because guess what? their "other fish" too
a 115 is too small for one buttikoferi much less TWO! (IMO)
their aggression is well known, I'm rather surprised your asking to house them with other fish.
tell dad to research them more before jumping into something he'll regret.
It's suggested in a few sites I've seen that they should be in larger groups to keep aggression down. I wouldnt advise buying only one!!
