have now bought a testing kit - Amonia 0, Nitrite 0.25, nitrate 5, ph 7.8. Have bought some syuff to lowe5r the ph to 7

thanks for that, i went to buy a testing kit but pests at home said they test you water for free so i didnt get one. Looking at the link i dont think they would test it twice a day though!

no they didnt say anything about that at the shop. but the new filter was bought because tank had already gone cloudy and they said it could be that the old filter wasnt working properly at moment only have plastic plant in tank, would real one help? dont know a lot about fish, daughter...

we have a 40litre tank, which we have had for about 6 months, with 12 fish. in the last 2 weeks the water has gone cloudy, tried changing 50%, then 25% daily but stayed cloudy. changed filter unit from under gravel to stuck on side type. bought chemicals supposed to reduce waste, clear water...
