I figured it out. As long as you use clear tubing (tubing doesn't come with the Jebo H-9 UV), you can see the glow of the UV near the entrance and exit of the tubing in low light. I'm not sure that UV light is too great to look at, so I wouldn't put it in an open spot ot stare at it too much...
