    Canadian, Eh?

I've got a couple dojo loaches that like to burrow in the sand. Well, in theory they do. They're slowly learning the joy of it. Lol. Anyway, if it turns out they do it a lot I might not worry about doing it as frequently myself. :) As for the gas, I'm really not sure. However, even if it...

    Canadian, Eh?

Stirring up the sand on occasion to prevent pockets of gas (can't remember the actual term for it) and to bring food and poop up to the top to siphon out. :)

    Canadian, Eh?

Thanks! And, it hasn't. Lol. I did a 30% water change yesterday, and will do the sand sifting and another water change tomorrow. :) I "lost" a loach earlier tonight, but he's back out now, so obviously one of them has figured out the joys of burrowing in the sand. Heh.

New Here And Looking For Advice

Also, with the advice given, you won't be able to keep these fish. The yellow tang and yellow tailed damsels are saltwater fish. They can not live in a freshwater tank, which is what you are almost set up to put together. This might have been mentioned, but I've missed it.

    Indian Almond Leaves

From what I understand, they would help the water quality of my betta tank. And thanks, I found a few things on ebay as well, which I might eventually order....but I might search a bit more here first.

    Canadian, Eh?

Hi everyone! I just got into posting without even introducing myself. I got into fish keeping when my boyfriend moved and needed a temporary place for his 10 gallon cold water fish tank. So I took them in and fed them for a few months, although he came over to clean them. When they left I...

    Indian Almond Leaves

Does anyone have a good place they know of to get indian almond leaves in Canada? I don't mind ordering in, but I'd prefer a Canadian source. Less waiting and customs issues. Heh. I asked one of the fish stores around here and they didn't know what I was talking about. There is a few more I...

    Another Stocking Question....and Sand?

Tested my water when I got home. Ammonia: .25 or so.....was hard to tell between .25 and .5. Nitrate: 5ppm Nitrite: 0ppm PH - Tested the lower range and it looks like I need to test in the higher....which I didn't do. Just did a 30% water change, so I'll do some more testing tomorrow. And...

    Another Stocking Question....and Sand?

erk628: One last question (at least for now...heh), will I need to remove all the plants and ornaments in order to shift the sand, or is it possible to just work around them? mojo dojo: *sighs* As much as I like the loaches, I wish I had another home for them. Maybe one day I will be able...

    Another Stocking Question....and Sand?

Mojo Dojo: Mine are only about 3.5", so they seem to be growing pretty slowly after two years. But then again, I don't really remember how big they were before then! They are definitely fun, but mine are not nearly as active as my boyfriend's......I think I keep the tank too warm for them...

    Another Stocking Question....and Sand?

I have a 20G tank that has been up and running for about 2.5 years now. Started off with a few mollies, then added two dojo loaches. Then a few platys. Somewhere in there I had a male betta, but he became a pretty big bully and was always picking on this one fish, so he is now on his own...
