I have the electric blue johannis in my tank and the females are very very close to the males in colour. One of my females is very dull in colour. But the other one i thought was another male right up till i found she was holding last month.
Took a trip to b&q today to give this a go. Been meaning to for a while. Didn't need mine to suck because my syphon could drain into my shower base. I still used a y piece so i could mix hot and cold water back to my tank. Very pleased with the results glad i took a look at this thread now. On...
Hi they might have survived. If youve got a lot of rockwork in the tank with plenty of hiding spaces they have a good chance. Mine bred a while back and i thought id lost all the fry but a few weeks later two popped out of nowhere. Even tho i searched the tank for them when the mother spat. They...
Also plants dont consume oxygen. They produce it through photosynthesis, taking in carbon dioxide to do this. So it is in fact helping your oxygen levels by having the plants.
In reference to your water line. With my brothers 55 gallon tank we ran a strip of black sticky back plastic round the top of the tank, so we could bring the water level up so we couldn't see it but still away from the braces. Hardly notice it. Worth a try.
I don't think it can kill them. but too much ammonia will severly slow down the growth of the bacteria that breaks down the nitrite to nitrate. hence slowing down your cycle. i managed to get hold of some 30% concentration ammonia for my 65 gallon and it was done in two and a half weeks...
It comes down to the space they need. Labidos grow to around 4-5 inches. The volume needed to dilute there waste. I mean its not 20 gallons per fish. But it is a recommended size to keep them in.
Mine are in a tank with other african cichlids all of similar size. They haven't killed anything in my tank cos all the others i have are the more aggresive and chase them away lol. If they do attack it is likely to be through territory and they would attack anything in the tank. When my...
We have two sailfins in my brothers community tank for about three years now and there fins are amazing when they get to a decent size. we used to have some common plecs but these are much better B)
i had the same problem with my 104. Quiet as anything at first yhen suddenly gets noisy. and you just cant get rid of it. Seems like a common problem with them.
That makes life easier then. well the 2026 is 251 gph and the 2028 is 277 gph. Thats pump output. probably get the larger one then. more for the filter capacity.
Wondering if you guys can help.
I currently have a 65 gallon african cichlid tank. At the moment it is is not overstocked and the fish are fairly young.
What i need to know is. Would i be better off going for the 2026 that has a 950 lph flow rate or the 2028 with 1050lph flow. I know the more...
