Oh, i added ammonia to raise the ppm to 3 before i added the safe start. The ammonia will raise the ph. This is what happened when i started the cycle. My tap water is ph8 Yes, im doing a fishless cycle and using the safe start to speed it up. I had no nitrites before adding the safestart. :)
