I just cleaned the tank yesterday and he's already made a new bubblenest!

There definitely is reflection if the light is on.... He was bought in a cup, right inside Petsmart near the door, so the water was prolly pretty cold. The water in the tank now is about 72 degrees F, according to the thermometer on the side. I don't know how accurate those are though...

We just got a betta that we put in a 2 1/2 gallon tank with no filter or heater. (We just had a filter and heater in there with the previous betta, and the betta kept wrapping himself around the bottom of the filter and I think that's what killed him--his fins were all ripped.) There are rocks...

Does it matter if you mix brands of declorinator? Like, for the last few years or so I've used a generic brand for my tank because it's worked really well for us but I couldn't find it today when I changed the water so I used Aquasafe. Do you think it matters?

I have a large gravel vaccuum for my 44 gallon tank and it's growing mold inside the long, thin part of the tube. Is there any way to clean that out? Does it matter? Should I just buy a new one?

I have a biowheel for both tanks and it's definitely cross contamination. I moved a plant from the 10 gallon into the 44 gallon before I saw any signs of ich, because it had outgrown the 10 gallon. Yeah, I'm an idiot. You don't have to tell me. :blink:

I wasn't too worried about my puny 10 gallon 2 month old tank with cheapo fish. But now the fish from my large tank have ich! Just the kissing gourami so far, and I bought quick cure to put in the tank. My only question is it says to take out the carbon and I don't understand how to do that. I...

So I should just euthanize the poor suckers and let the ich die from lack of hosts, eh?

I don't know much about my water parameters because I don't have a testing kit of my own. I took the water to Petsmart tonight and they told me the pH was high but that was all. This is a relatively new tank, only 2 months old. I only let it go a week or so before I put fish in and I started...

I'm beginning to hate platies too. I just got 3, and I've never seen fish poop as much as those guys. EVERY time I look at them, they're pooping. :huh:

Can you add sand while there a fish in the tank?

Alright, so tonight I went out to buy a honey gourami and I came home with 3 platys and 2 black skirt tetras. Can I still put a honey gourami in anyway?

My sharks did the same thing and nothing came of it.

I don't really like them much either but the hubby does.
