    International Women's Day

IWD has its roots in the early 20th century to demand better working conditions (and voting rights) for women. I believe you're responding to the question about International Men's Day.

    Any aquarist-philatelists out there?

It seems that some countries decide not to have aquarium fish on their stamps. I have a US and a Canadian stamp of marine fish. Australia has quite a collection of marine fish stamps, but I have never seen one of aquarium fish. Fish and Coral (bottom right) From the early 80s 1980s - 2000

    Best app for aquariums?

The only thing I do on a regular basis is changing water. If I do it weekly then I pick one day a week, say every Sunday to do it. If it's every 2 weeks then the first day and the 15th of the month. If I can't remember that, then I'd set the alarm on the phone to remind me every week or every...

The unfortunate (or not) dither fish

That's what "dither fish" means to me too. Have a rainbow shark in a tank and I never see it, keep it with African cichlids and it comes out just like any other fish. The cichlids are the dither fish.

    radiant heat...

Heat from fish tanks behaves like heat from an oil heater in that it warms the air rather than heats an object directly. The term for that is convection heat. Heat from an electric bar heater is radiant heat. Unlike convection heat, you turn on a radiant heater and you feel the heat instantly...

remembering again, why I gave up ( for the most part ) on South American cichlids...

I use polycarbonate roofing sheet, cut to size, as dividers, and 4 suction cups used to hold the each divider in place.

    Sick betta

That looks like a severe bacterial infection, so I'd provide treatment for bacterial infection. That said, it may now be too late for treatment given how severe it is. Is the fish still eating? If not, it's humane to euthanise using clove oil.

    Fish that eat lily pads

I saw these fish in a large pond in a park in Sabah, Malaysia. I don’t think they are carp or native to the island. Anyone knows what they are? The lily pads are at least 200mm or 8” in diameter so they are big fish. A screenshot below (a bit blurry), in case the link to a short video doesn’t...

Angelfish bullied and not doing well

I wouldn't be able to tell what is wrong, but it doesn't look like he'll survive. How much salt did you put in the tank, and what is the tank's volume? Any other medications in the tank? It's not advisable to mix medications. If you mix different med, you should do a large water change, I...

Angelfish bullied and not doing well

I'd use salt to treat injury, search the forum for "salt injury" for dosage. You're aware of your hard water, nitrate and ammonia so I won't comment on your water parameters.

    radiant heat...

Solar panels these days use photovoltaic cells which do not require water for cooling. I salute anyone who still has decades-old technology solar panels, it’s proof that they look after their panels very well. I have a system with battery installed recently, so I no longer have to worry about...
