    Ropefish Will Not Eat!

My new ropefish will not eat, it's been about a week. He is alone for now, looking for more friends. I've tried feeding him wafers, mealworms, freeze dried blood worms, ham, recently dead fish. He's about 10'' long, need help!

    Fertiliser

Unless you are using a Co2 system, fertilizers won't be very beneficial. I suggest plant tabs, a small tab of nutrients that you place under the roots of the plant while planting it. Fertilizers tend to spawn string algea on plants.

    Live Plants

If you want some plants that don't require any of the above (Special Substrate, Co2 system, or fertilizers) Many species of Amazon Swords work, Anubis Nana work well, and most fish don't like to eat them (Bonus) Wisteria work, Java Fern work, if you anchor them to something (A rock or driftwood)...

    Shoaling Fish

I'm looking for advise on a shoaling fish for my aquarium, that will not be eaten by my Rope fish, the tank is 55g at the moment. Something that gets 4-4.5'' in length would work best, nothing that is too aggressive towards other tankmates Planted, sand substrate, any information will help.
