I got the snail because I was under the impression that they were beneficial to the water quality/tank conditions. If its harmful, or doesn't benefit it at all, I am going to bring it back.

Hm, I'm in a dorm, and don't quite have room for a 5gal. So I should a find a different home for the snail I think. Are there any bottom feeders/algae eaters that I could keep in my tank? Or no?
