hi. i think nitrite as you can usually tell if you have high ammonia cos the fish appear to gasp and go up to the surface

thanks jaco, but they where all gone this morning i didnt have room to move them into a different tank, i am waiting for 2 4ft tanks to arrive so i can re-arrange my fish. i'm sure they will have another batch in a couple of weeks.
