    Bio media question

Yeah I realize it’s not easy to modify. It’s the QuietFlow LED Pro for a 20 gallon tank

    Bio media question

My filter is an Aqueon QuietFlow. It’s just the closed disposable carbon filter that sits inside a plastic frame. I was thinking about trying to cut open a new filter, disposing of the carbon inside, and putting some bio media pellets or rings inside. Not sure if it will fit into the frame...

    Bio media question

Can anyone tell me if it would be ok to use JUST some bio filter media in a hang on back filter set up? I have a 20 gallon tall tank using a charcoal filter cartridge. I managed to squeeze some bio media in a mesh bag into the filter chamber before the charcoal filter. So I have both. But I’ve...

PLECO STAYING UPSIDE DOWN ON SURFACE!!

He is definitely not swimming around looking for anything at the surface. He’s quite immobile, just sitting at the surface upside down in the middle of the bubbles. If the agitation of the surface bubbling starts to push him at all, he wiggles his way back to that same spot to stay there. It’s...

PLECO STAYING UPSIDE DOWN ON SURFACE!!

Not that anyone needed a picture really, but this is what he’s been doing. And in the same corner all the time right next to where some of the more concentrated bubbles come up.

PLECO STAYING UPSIDE DOWN ON SURFACE!!

For the past day or so, my Pleco has been at the surface, belly up A LOT. I’ve been reading online about what this can be (swim bladder issues, oxygen deficiency), but I’m asking here to see if anyone has had this problem before and what can be done about it. Clearly he’s not well in some way...

    Fish nibbling on tube buildup

Oh wow! Ok, good to know! I did not know that. It’s like they say, “you learn something new every day”. Thank you all.

    Fish nibbling on tube buildup

Anyone have a clue as to why my red dwarf gourami is nibbling on the buildup that forms on the air hoses in my tank? The slimy stuff that builds up on the lines and hoses in the tank from time to time has now become of interest to my gourami, to the point where he looks like he’s eating it. WTH?

    Angels not appearing to eat

Ok. I have an update here… I went away for a few days and had an automatic feeder set up. Worked as it should. Had the flakes in there that I normally would feed with. But when I came back yesterday, some of the fish appear to be acting different all of a sudden. The two angels, who always stuck...

    Angels not appearing to eat

Freeze dried brine shrimp. When I get a chance I’ll try to take some video to upload. Thank you

    Angels not appearing to eat

I’ve had them since September 1st. Water temp is steady at around 77°-78°. I check my water parameters probably about once a week and it’s all good. No signs of Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia etc… Brine shrimp I’ve tried. Dried bloodworm as well. And 3 different types of flake food. They don’t...

    Angels not appearing to eat

My 2 angelfish appear to never really eat that much. Every time I put food in the tank they seem so interested and swim right up to the pieces floating or when they start to drop, but then seem to back away. I’ve tried a couple different types of flakes, dried bloodworms, dried shrimp brine…...

    Pleco appetites??

Thanks for the feedback… so the common suggestion here seems to be zucchini. The only thing I definitely know he didn’t touch was the algae wafers. Like I said, he may be eating the fallen flakes at night, just not sure really. But I’ll try securing some zucchini to the bottom of the tank near...
