Help, my albino oscar is acting weird. I read that oscars lay down on their sides sometimes but it's been like this since last night and it looks like it's in a lot of pain. What can I do? Here's a video I took this morning:
My BGK died today. :-( Was approx. 2-2.5 in. He was suffering from fin rot a few days ago but managed to cure it with daily water changes. I fed it with 1 small earthworm but right after he finished it, he started acting crazy and swimming around almost like he is in pain. I usually chop up the...
Finished it. :]
Is there too much sand? Didn't notice until I was done. lol
Have to add more plants tho, any suggestions/recommendations?
Oh, and sorry bout the bad pic, camera phone. :/
Sweet! Never thought of that. Thank you!:good: I have a gravel siphon with a detachable "head thingy"(lol. i have no idea what its called). Gonna try it tomorrow. Cheers! gonna update the thread when I'm done, and maybe post some pics too.
Good point. But I have been gutloading them with bananas and other high protein fruits. Oh, and my bichir stopped eating earthworms for some reason. I think he saves them for the bgk. I use prawn sinker pellets as a staple but I think its a bit small for him now.
I use sinkers and earthworms so its really hard to scoop them out. Anyway, I think I found the main cause. I have been feeding my BGK chopped frozen earthworms, and I noticed that he had been hiding the worms. I'm impressed but at the same time worried. Has he been hording the worms I feed him...
not really. I try to put in only as much as they can eat. 10 sinker pellets for the bichir and chopped frozen earthworms for the bgk. and i usually remove the leftovers.
I have a Senegal Bichir and a BGK in a 30gal grow out tank. And while I was feeding them, I noticed a tiny white worm(there may be more...) wiggling as it floats around in my aquarium. Should I be worried? What can I do to remove it or prevent it? What is causing this?
Thanks a lot. :] Although I decided to wait for the upgrade tank(have them in a 27gal grow out tank) until I try sand substrate. Might save me a lot of time and effort(and money too) and might also be stressful to the fish.
Also, I read that "ammonia bubbles(???)" are a common threat to tanks...
I want to switch from gravel to fine sand substrate, I just have a few questions:
[a] Should I change 100% of the water or use half of it?
[b] Are there any other things I should change, like the Powerhead pump that I am currently using?
[c] How many minutes/hours/days/weeks(-_-) should I wait...
