Ok I want to make a planted tiger barb tank with a red tail shark in it, but every time I put plants with tiger barbs they eat them, are there any plants that they don't like? How do I get them to not eat them?

The time I rescued the eggs they hatched and I fed them BBS, but when I released them into the tank with the big dogs they disappeared forever.

Blood parrots can be kept in a 40g. my friend kept one in a 20 gallon and it did fine for a long time! I don't know how long it was but I remember him having it at least a year, i moved away though. And haven't really asked about it much.
