Everything is reading at nigh 0ppm... how is this? I've been adding ammonia, but I dont understand, could I have just done the Nitrate test wrong?

If my Ammonia and Nitrites are 0ppm and my Nitrates are very high, does that mean the tank is ready for fish?

Ah, I see, I understand now. So for now, top up the ammonia, and keep testing them both until Nitrites start coming down?

Ok so readings now are: Ammonia- 1.0ppm Nitrite- 5.0ppm pH- 7.6 Should I be testing Nitrate at this stage? I can't imagine it would've spiked already?

Hm... kinda irritated. My ammonia has gone to 4ppm... from 2-3 ppm for some reason. Any ideas? Or should I just wait it out?

Really? Is that any particular gourami..? Or just in general? A honey... or a dwarf maybe then? I suppose I never really took notice and havent had a look yet... but would a gourami eat the ember tetra? Are they too small...? Thanks.

I got a few more plants today, two from my girlfriend who isn't using them in her tank any more, and three more in a 'variety pack' from my LFS. I'll fiddle around with my arrangement tomorrow and show you guys what it turns out like :)

Went to check the LFS today and noticed that they did have ember tetra's after all. I really do like the look of those, and would like to have some, would they be a good fish to have first in the tank? How many do you think is a good number? Anything up from 6 right? Maybe some ember tetra's...
