Hi
I am in the process of getting the equipment together to start setting up my first marine tank.
We all know how pricey this stuff is so I have been looking to buy a mature set up and then selling on the tank and using the equipment for the tank I already have (currently empty).
Anyway I...
Yes I heard that most shops wont take them.....why is that? Is it because they can be fairly prolific?
My lfs have taken the odd fish off of me......not sure if they would take a whole brood.
I doubt these will survive to maturity but if they do then I can try and if the lfs wont take them...
Thanks alot for your reply
Weird thing is my male seems to be more protective of the fry than the female.
I def need to remove the other fish as they have a miserable life at the moment and dont even swim around as its attracts the parents attention and they get chased.
The loach though I will...
Hiya
I have just had a batch of Krib babies too and too I am at a loss as to what to do with them
Some say that they will be eaten when the parents want to spawn again which could be as early as 3 weeks!
Some say leave them with their parents
Some say to raise the fry on their own
I dont have...
Hiya
I like in Milton Keynes and know of a few but as a new tropical fish keeper the jury is still out as to which are best.
Maidenhead aquatics in the Wyevale centre in Woburn Sands......good for equipment, nice selection of tropicals and some marines but not many cichlids the two times I...
Hi again
Well the babies survived the night although there doesnt seem to be as many.
Instead of sticking to the bottom they are venturing higher up into the water which is so cute, up to half way up the tank. They are quite fast.
The parents are constantly on alert and they must be shattered...
Hi everybody
Well it was finally confirmed today. What a Christmas pressie!! I awoke to find my Kribs have brought their babies out into the tank today
They are so cute......impossible to count but there could be as many as 50 if not more.
Parents are being excellent.....was expecting the Mum...
My LFS has all VTs and they are either red or blue...thats as much as I can see into their opaque little boxes :(
Still stunning fish but it would be nice to see something more unusual.
Hiya
Well my female Kribensis has been gone for 2 days now (in the cave I think) and the male is on guard duty so I am assuming that there may be a flutter of tiny fins soon.
Aaaaggghhhh not done this before
Q1. I have 3 Mollies, pair of swords and a golden loach in the tank....are any of...
Hiya
Thanks so much for your reply.
Sounds like yours is going to be great. I love gourami's too and will more than likely have to include some in any set up I have.
The 18" tank is only a 30 litre, 7 gallon tank (7.93 US gallons)

I (and maybe other newbies) would find it really interesting (and useful) if you all could describe the perfect community tropical set up that you know of or have had yourself.
What fish worked for you?
What fish to avoid in a community setting?
What would be an ideal set up?
I have a...
Hi everyone
I have a bonded pair of Kribs in my community tank. Its relatively new tank but is cycling using a established filter from another tank and water quality is good.
Anyway at the moment they share their tank with a pair of swordtails, a lone silver Molly female and a small Golden...
