I do not know a thing about setting up a tank to be honest, as last time I went by advice from my LFS but that didn't turn out so great. So I will have to rely on the forum for guidance.

Platies are supposedly vegeatable lovers, fish should be ok with them as long as they are properly prepared. For example, peas must be lightly cooked and taken out of their 'coat'. I agree with star4, keeping healthy water conditions throughout this is vital. May I add that your fish is very nice, I'd love to keep a piranha some day.

Wanted to have a go at this, too bad I haven't been a member for 60 days.

If you use tinypic, you should be able to resize it there.

I like platies, as they're fun to breed and my last batch of platy fry had many combinations of colours and patterns, as I had quite a nice range of platies in my tank. I also like guppies, as I love to see how their tails turn out. 

  How's your guppy and other platy doing?
