As I am retired I have loads of spare time for my interests they include:-
Gardening, we have recently landscaped it and added a second pond. Our original Pond contains Koi, Tench, Goldfish, Orfe. At present the second pond has nothing in it except Water and plants but will add fish when the temperature rises later in the spring.
I enjoy creating video presentations for the local Heritage Group of my birthplace village and am a committee member. I also collate the old photographs of the Village.
I’m afraid I am a bit of a computer nerd and enjoy most things associated with computers and love to help people with their computer problems.
I love car boots and am always on the lookout for bits and bobs for my aquariums, garden house etc.
I used to have tropical fish a number of years ago but gave up and now have taken up the hobby again

My Aquariums & Fish
I have a 6ft Aquarium
As stated in my profile I had given up Tropical’s but last autumn I purchased some Carp fry so as it was too cold to put them outside so they went into the old quarantine tank I had retained as the fish grew I purchased the 3ft then the 5ft tank. When I moved the carp into the 5ft tank I set up the 3ft tank as tropical. As things go I could not resist a 6ft tank and have just set that up as a tropical tank.
I put the Carp out a few days ago into my second pond & would you believe it a Heron took them
I have had koi for 15 years & never lost one to a Heron good job i did not transfer any of the Koi from pond 1 to Pond 2 I will have to make sure Heron cannot get down the waterfall & rocks I thought it would be too steep
I now have:-

11 Neon
6 Harlequins
2 Panda Corydoras
4 Leopard Corydoras
1 Caudiolanus Corydoras
1 Swartzi Corydoras
1 Panique
1 Ancustrus
4 Honey Gourami

As you can see I like corys but my favourite fish is the Clown Loach which as yet I do not have but will alter that when I get the 6ft tank set up and settled

Filtration is eheim external [bought second hand of course] at present I have the inlet pipes down the under gravel tubes to give extra filtration.
As our area has hard water I am thinking of getting a RO unit as I would like to get some Rams also considering a UV steriliser on second thoughts I could use the original small UV filter I had on the pond

Filtration Eheim 2080 external
pick up through 2 under gravel filters
3 heaters 100 - 200 Watt with normal internal thermostats
1 heater 300 Watt with external digital thermostat/ thermometer
