Yeah, for the blue pads just switch them out after 30 days. I would leave them in for another week but i could be wrong. shouldn't hurt anything to leave it in though.

@despreauxb If you want to replace a filter, don't just take out the filter and put in a new one. Run the new filter alongside your current Penguin for about 6 weeks then remove the Penguin. But tbh, the penguin will work so i wouldn't replace it.

What kind of filter do u have? Tank size? What kind of filter media? Like is it sponge? carbon? If u don't know, please send a pic.

Don't replace your filter cartridge. Thats where a bunch of your beneficial bacteria live.

I bought a bottle of Dr. Tim's Freshwater One and Only and am trying to cycle a tank with it. How much should I dose my new 5 gal tank with the 2 oz bottle? Do I add all of it? The instructions say that it "cannot be overdosed." Does "cannot be overdosed" mean that you can add as much of it...

Not cycled. Will do 50% water changes from every day from now on. Is it safe to just transfer him to the main tank in this condition? if ammonia is the issue, I can do that. I feed him 3 or 4 flakes once a day.

He's in an uncycled 15 gal while i treat for his fins... Ammonia: 0.25 Nirites: 0 Nitrates: 0 50% water changes every other day.
