the first pic, is definitely a female, the lighting isn't so good on the 2nd pic, but when I baught my pair the lfs worker told me the females were a dull orange, and the males a deeper orange, i'll have to see if I can get a pic posted to show.

if you're really worried go to a lfs and look for maracyn, maracyn 2 or maroxy if it is a fungus, any of those should help, but you will have to remove the carbon from the filter while the medicine is in the tank

id say she is getting very close, im in a similar wait situation with a silver mm platy, she looks like she is about to burst but hasn't yet, I've been putting her in the breeder net at night while I sleep for 6-7 hours and letting her out when I wake up

prime is good I have it too, and put it in with water changes, but I also use the fluval brand for the slime coat, because if you read your prime bottle, it says provides slime coat, but not coats scales and fins for protection like the fluval does, and my pleco's being a catfish technically...

a pleco you might want to go look at if you go that route, is a clown pleco the max is supposed to be 4 inches, though I have heard of peoples being a little bigger
