Reflectors make a huge difference in the output of light from your lamps, also keeping them clean (reflectors and lamps) makes a huge difference too.

Flourescent tubes come in T12, T8 and T5 this equates to the diameter of the glass in 8ths of inches.
So T8 is 1" diameter T12 is 1 & 1/2 inch diameter and T5 is 5/8ths of 1 inch.
Also T8/T12 and T5 are slightly different lenths.

Hi all, I'm new to fish keeping and am using the API master (ebay £20) liquid kit all dated month 5 or 6 this year, I also have some 6in1 Tetra strip tests about 23 left :) I don't use them much harder to read.
I can't speak for the Tetra liquid tests but the API were a little tricky to read at...

We have the same tank, and had almost the same advice from pets@home, I am so glad I found this forum so much usefull info here :)
I set up our tank for 2 weeks and then introduced 5 leopard danios (danio frankei) one of them died...
The tank I have is made by Interpet and is called a "fishbox" comes complete with heater, filter, thermostat and twin light, I thought it was a good buy, but the instructions for setup & keeping fish are not brilliant.

I understand its going to take alot of regular testing and PWCs to keep healthy fish, I got a shock when P@H said after a week you can stock some "tester fish" I got the feeling the staff knew these would probably get sick and/or die within weeks :(
