    Terrified Blue Ram

Well when I say low it was on the lowest colour of the testing kit I used so it would be zero. I bought the ram from a local store but I wouldn't be able to tell you if it had been tank bred or not. You say that behaviour isn't an indicator of how well a fish is doing, and that it will die...

    Terrified Blue Ram

Tank has been established for nearly a year now and the nitrite and ammonia are low. Temperature is 26C but I do have slightly hard water in this area so do you think that's the cause? I would have thought if it was ill it wouldn't be reacting so vigorously to disturbances like it is at the moment.

    Terrified Blue Ram

Have had a blue ram in my community tank for about 6 months now. When I first got it, it was fine i.e. would swim around normally, went for food that was descending and floating and was generally not afraid of shadows or movement. Now it sits right at the bottom under some bogwood in complete...

    Mysterious Betta Death

I have a 10g tank which originally had 5 panda corys and a male betta. The other day i performed a routine daily water change as it's a reasonably new tank and it is still cycling. The fish were fine for about an hour afterwards and then they started acting differently. The pandas were all...

    Possible Tank Mates

Could pygmy corys be too small?

    Possible Tank Mates

I've moved my lone male betta from a 6g to a 10g tank. I've made sure it's quite heavily planted compared to the previous tank and it has sand instead of gravel. Apart from some slight flaring at reflection it has settled in well. Because 10g is quite a lot for a single betta i want to add some...

    Missing Fin

Athena Yeah, it is the same betta. The fin is completely gone, the other one is trailing quite far from the other side. He's on his own in the tank so i don't have to worry about further damage. I will continue with the fin rot treatment just in case, but as i said i don't think it's that, so i...

    Missing Fin

My new betta is missing one of it's front fins, not the pectorals, but one of the ones that just hangs down. I dunno if you'd even call it a fin, but anyway, it only has one. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have fin rot as all its other fins are in fine condition, but i have given it a 3 day course...

Betta Laying On The Bottom Of The Tank.

Thanks for the replies He seems much better today, much more active, haven't seen him on the ground once all day. I think he must have just been stressed from the move, i will continue to keep a close eye on it for the next couple of days but i think it's crisis over :)

Betta Laying On The Bottom Of The Tank.

I purchased a betta yesterday, i tried to pick the most active and healthiest one available in the store. It looked fine and settled in well or so i thought. Now it's laying on the bottom of the tank, with no visible signs of disease or illness. I have checked for all the symptoms of diseases...
