Tell me what you guys think please. I restarted my tank recently. Here is my daily log.
10/22/07
aquascaped dead sand and probably mostly dead rock (30LBS). Added 17 gallons of fresh saltwater from brians fish world. Bought 100w Aqueon submersible heater and API master saltwater test kit...
Ok my amonia is up to .5 now. But my ph is pretty low still... 7.8-7.9. I used a buffer yesterday and it went up to 8.2 (which is about what I want correct?). But it went right back down today. Is there something Im not doing? Do I really have to use a buffer everyday forever?
Ok just got home from the LFS. Picked up about 11 pounds of good lookin LR and added it to the tank. I took the cocktail shrimp out too. Just starting to see a little amonia now... Ill post some pics of the tank in a few. its a lot of rock now... 41lbs in a 24 gallon tank. Too much?
Thank you thank you. Its not bad. 2MP its a sony ericsson w810i. Its a great MP3 player!
So can I leave the shrimp in? Ill most likely pick up about 10lbs of LR tomorrow...
Um... No real filter other than the sponge that goes in the back left corner of the nanocube. Here are some pics of the tank I just took. SORRY I used my phone! I left room for some more rock this way.

yes that is the plan but I have been to a few lfs and havent seen and good lookin LR yet and I wanted to get the cycle underway. Shouldnt harm anything though right?
Well thats the thing. They said my rock is more than likely dead having sat so long without any flow... If it were alive, the dead shrimp wouldnt hurt it would it? Seems like it would just make a bigger cycle ultimately creating a stronger bacteria filter correct?
Ok well the tank is up and running. I put in the clean sand yesterday. I only used about half as much as last time. And all the rock went in yesterday too. I got all my water from the LFS. It comes from the ocean and gets filtered... He was raving about it... Anyways dropped a cocktail...
Ok... That sucks. So after I get it back in the tank with a few pounds of new LR, what precautions do I need to take when it comes to stocking the tank? I know the filtration of the LR wont be nearly as effective. So keep it to a couple damsels? If so, for how long?
Sorry for all the...
