Quite possibly but mine's a freshwater tropical tank. 7.5 PH is fine for the fish I have.

Another Peppered Cory has just died. It seems they go from swimming about fine, get sick and start laying on the bottom breathing heavily to dying within a few hours. The fish left in the tank - 5 Zebra Danios, 1 Dwarf Gourami, 1 Peppered Cory and 1 Albino Cory all at this moment in time...

The was the Dwarf Gourami that had the stringy poo. I haven't seen it on any of the other fish but it is the only sign I have seen so far. At the moment, it's all I have to go on !

Yeah was a shame. I had two, an orange (rainbow) dwarf Gourami and the Blue Dwarf Gourami. They came from the same tank in the fish shop and got on quite well, both following each other around the tank. I am now watching the other very closely hoping he doesn't go the same way.

I have a 65L tank and when I was fishless cycling I used to add 5ml of ammonia. That would give me 6ppm.

Thanks. I've put him in a large-ish plastic container filled with tank water floating in the top of the tank to maintain the temperature and added a couple of teaspoons of salt. When you say for a couple of minutes? What do you mean? Then add him back to the tank? Or should I leave him in...

I've no-where to buy any aquaruim salt or meds now, should have been better prepared it seems !!! If I isolate him in a container suspended in the top of the tank (if I can find anything) would table salt be better than nothing and if so how much?
