Im off on holiday next week for a week. i have bought 7 day feeders but have heard they arent that great. Or can i just not bother for a week. Or will they just demolish the plants
No plants ok just brown stuff on them you can rub it off with your fingers. I used filtered sponges that i put in my new filter some rocks and sand in tights from my other cycled tank. The tank is not in direct sunlight and is on for about 11 hours a day
My tank has been cycling nearly 4 weeks i used filtered media to do this. The last week the plants have been turning brown and algae on the tank as well. I know this is usual for a new tank but is there anything i can do to help prevent it

Im only doing weekly changes as normal and adding the minerals is this still not good then. What is the difference of doing weekly changes with tap water ? Im not sure i understand
I started my tank 240ltr with normal tap water and want to change it to RO for the low ph. I started with tap water just for it being easier filling my tank ( hose pipe ) I was just wondering how long it will take for the ph to drop. Every water change im putting RO only back in tank min of...
Need some of advice i would like some cichlids in my new tank but not sure what sort depending on size. So to help suggestions im using ro water and will have in there 3 x L136 4 x Long tailed barbs 2 x Rams 4 x Emporer Tetras. The tank has sand for substrate and planted but not heavily with bog...
im no expert but have had both gravel and sand, im using sand in my tank i find the sand easier maintainence as you can see all the crap and syphon it with out disturbing the sand and taking the good stuff with it. Also my opinion sand looks so much nicer but it is all down to your own preference
Phew thanks for the reply, when they started saying it wasnt working i thought it was strange. I know im new to fish keeping but i thought that if you put in filtered media your readings would be low as they have been cycled and bacteria had been formed so for the fish and waste in my tank the...
