My local aquarium shop is wonderful, he keeps the bettas in proper 15 or so gallon tanks with other suitable fish, none are in small cups. I only ever buy from him, he cares deeply about their welfare.

If I were to go down that route it would be at least 90 litres, lots of Java fern and anubias.

As much as I'd love to have some colourful koi girls, I won't keep them together if it's possible they could stress out or their tank mates could negatively affect them. I appreciate the help! I did do some research on the product, so I only used it every couple of days and diluted the solution. He perked right up, and is now healthy and happy once again. Thank you all so much.

Alright will do, I added some aquarium salt yesterday but I might put a little bit in tomorrow. Just dimmed the lights now, I can't thank you enough for all your help, I really appreciate it, and I'm sure lemon cakes (his name) does as well. Thank you so very much ☺️

Hey sorry for the late reply. I just biked down to get him some antibacterial medicine, there was no methylene blue but I got something similar. He doesn't take any pauses, just big breaths continuously. Like how you might breath after running a race.

Oh god alright, I'll go down now and get him some. I'd have to walk so do you think he'd last another hour? Poor guy.

He didn't want to come up for air so his fins aren't as spread out as I'd like them to be for the picture but I hope this helps

Thank you for the help! What signs show that he has fin rot if you don't mind me asking? His fins have always been very small and there aren't any dark/damaged areas on his fins. I thought those were the only signs of fin rot. So I'd love to know any other signs that might help me identify it...
