    Floating Bits

I guess all I can do is play with the inlet/outlet :( the 190's shape makes it limited as to where they can be placed, ah well if at first you don't succeed............

    Floating Bits

I regulary clean my tank and gravel vac every water change (weekly), I have a Tetratec EX700 filter running. Problem is there's always small bits floating round the tank, the filter is pumping water out fast so I don't think there is a problem there. I think it is the position of the...

    Jewel Hood

Another problem I have with this tank is filtration, I have a tetratec EX700 which is great, however, Although I perform regular gravel vacs there always seems to be bits floating around :( and because of the tank shape I am limited as to where to locate the spray bar, been thinking of adding a...

    Jewel Hood

Thanks for the ideas, I don't think carpet tiles would be suitable, bearing in mind the hood will need to be supported by the rim and would surely look odd, the wood idea is something I had thought of (although not in quite so much detail  ) and your instructions are excelent although...

    Jewel Hood

Has anybody ever made a hood for a Jewel Trigon? I keep looking at my tank (not a Jewel but very similar) and wondering how to do it, the lid itself is relatively easy, it's the curvature of the support frame that's giving me a headache. Has anyone ever tried this, if so how and do you have any...

    Injured Rainbow

Unfortunately the poor fella did not make it through the night :( I do not have the facilities to isolate him so that was not an option, he was swimming upright and even ventured round the tank normally a couple of times before I went to bed. I took him to the LFS so they could take a look, and...

    Injured Rainbow

Hi I have a Boesami Rainbow (well 4 actually) and I have just noticed one looks injured, he is not moving one of his side fins the other side is fine. Also i have just fed them and he has totally ignored the food, he also looks to be *breathing* quicker and stays to one side of the tank, anyone...

    Breeding Angels

Thanks for the replys, they have laid eggs twice within two weeks, if they continue then good luck to them . They are already giving the others hell about 'their' tank space although non have been killed yet (thankfully) and if they do manage to raise young i'll give them every chance

    Breeding Angels

I have two angels in my tank and as luck would have it they've decided to lay a few eggs, however, their first attempt didn't quite work and all the eggs fell off the leaf, they've just laid their second batch and then proceeded to eat them all. Now before you tell me to separate them into their...

    Another Co2 Question

    1) Mature, yes been running for about 8 months now 2) Trigon 190 is 190 litres, There is only one light fitting so i'm probably limited to how much lifght I can get into the tank. 3) Temp is 28-30

    Another Co2 Question

Tank size/shape is approx the same as a Trigon 190, the filter is a Tetratec EX700 so no venturi :( As for lighting, all I can tell you is it a 15w Arcadia 450mm long single tube, it's usually switched on for around 6 - 7 hours/day. Think i'm gonna get a ceramic/glass diffuser at the weekend...
