    Hi, Essjay above was referring to the K (Kelvin) rating i.e. light spectrum which has a high 'blue' element. they LEDs themselves are white. I may look to cover or diffuse using plants.

    Yes Byron, you are of course right, these lights aren't just for my purpose. I'm going to start with the floating plants... I was hoping that the connectors (at my beginner level tank) would be a bit more universal and I could maybe get a generic replacement. Thanks for your patience.
