I'd imagine that even if you do a fishless cycle, start with some fish, and the add more later, the tank will also go into a new cycle, just like adding more fish to tank that was cycled with fish originally? I don't imagine the large amount of nitrifying bacteria produced by the added ammonia...

The only thing my Betta eats is FD blood worms. I don't have specific Betta food available here, and he won't eat flakes or granules the other fish like.

That's an interesting color! I don't understand how the left side of Betta would be the better one in general, tho -_- . Maybe some particular Betta looks better from one side than the other, but I can't imagine any universal "law" about the left side being better.

As far as I know, none of those factors depend on the sex of the parent. Rather, the dominance of a trait depends on the gene: some colors are dominant over the others, and so on. Here is a link to site with a thorough explanation on how different traits are passed on to the fry...

When I give my fish dried Tubifex, I break it to small pieces before giving it. A whole cube would be too much at once, anyway.

I have never had a measurable ammonia spike when cycling with fish, and haven't lost fish, either. Fish cycling doesn't necessarily put fish under a lot of fish if you keep a close eye on the water parameters and fish behaviour, and especially if you start with only one or two small fish and...

The tank will cycle without a heater, as well, but it may take longer.
