Starting A Second Tank And Need Some Help!

An awesome semi-aggressive fish for a 29 gallon tank would be an African Butterfly fish. Fascinating and beautiful fish. Fun to feed, too. They stay at the surface of the water, and eat anything that floats. Just make sure you have a tight fitting lid so it doesn't jump out and kill itself; they...

Help With Bottom Feeder For My 10G Tank

A snail seems like the best choice to me. Keep in mind that mystery snails get rather large and are thus big waste-producers. A nerite snail might be a better choice. I have one in my 72 gallon right now, but I used to keep it in a 10 gallon, and it cleaned it rather well. In that tank, before I...

    Stocking Suggestions For 55G

Well, if you like catfish, I have a couple suggestions...   Flagtail hoplos (Dianema urostriatum) are some of my favorite community catfish. Beautiful tails, and they have an interesting body shape. They get about 3.5-4", and do best in shoals. Super easy to take care of. They are technically...

    Bolivian Ram Not Eating

I just wanted to add that Bolivian rams don't appreciate caves in the same way that Kribensis or GBRs do. Bolivian rams like flat surfaces, such as slate rock; I assume this is because they lay their eggs on flat or concaved surfaces, unlike the Kribensis and GBRs who are cave breeers. I have...

    Bolivian Ram Not Eating

Sorry to hear it still isn't doing well. If you do decide to euthanize it, I would suggest clove oil. It seems to be the most humane method. First you need to pick up a bottle of clove oil. You don't need much of the stuff, but it has to be added gradually to keep the stress on the fish to a...

    Bolivian Ram Not Eating

Bolivian rams (at least mine) are voracious eaters, gobbling down just about anything. I have five now, but I originally had seven Bolivian rams. The two that died stopped eating a couple days before they died (this occurred within three weeks of their introduction into my aquarium). And from my...

Portable Fish Tank - Marketability Question

It sounds like something I would really be interested in buying.  The price isn't so bad, either. Pictures?

Colorful Fish Or Pet Fish? Which Would You Rather Have?

My 7" hoplo catfish often come up to the surface of the water to be hand fed (the majority of the time I chose this or chopsticks) and they let me touch them and they "kiss" my fingers.

    Need Ideas For Equipment Please

I'm in the EXACT situation with my 72 gallon bowfront. I have the pull the lid forward so it doesn't flow onto the lid. I've just chosen to deal with it and not let it bother me.

    Check My Readings?

I've had problems with my ph tester kit. Take it to a fish shop that liquid testing instead of dip-testing and compare results that way. My lps said that my ph was fine and they gave me a new reading card for pH. Your PH is at 7 it looks like to me according to my card.

    Electric Blue Crayfish! (Procambarus Clarkii)

I suppose I figured. Do you think more than one P. clarkii could coexist in a 40 gallon tank (150L)?

    Electric Blue Crayfish! (Procambarus Clarkii)

I recently bought an electric blue crayfish. If I have identified the species correctly, it is a Procambarus clarkii. It's currently very small and in a 10 gallon tank. I am buying a 40 gallon breeder within a couple weeks and transferring it to there, where it will spend the rest of its days. ...

    Help Fish Have Spots!

okay this is just a big mess... Well treat them for ick first. DO a water change (30%) before adding medicine EVERY day. Make sure the water is treated with water conditioner and that it is the same temperature as the tank (1 degree higher is better than 1 degree lower). RIGHT NOW do a water...
