Thanks for the reply. I wasn't expecting the cycle to progress so quickly. It seems that donated materials can really speed things up, at least the first stage anyway. I quess I will keep testing for ammonia and nitrites every 24 hours for now. Ph 8.0 Ammonia 3ppm to 0ppm/24 hours Nitrites...

3 days in to a fishless cycle with donated gravel. Ammonia went from 5ppm to .50ppm in 18 hours. Nitrite is of the scale, and nitrate is 80 ppm. Does this seem normal? Any advice would be great.

My tank water was treated with Prime to remove chlorine before I sarted the cycle. I noticed that it also removes ammonia. Is this going to screw with my cycle?
