No,actually, that is not referred to as black stripes... but as black markings on dorsal and ventral fins. I really don't see any reason to get sarcastic.
Extra rocks and caves will definitely help...try to arrange them so there's lots of hiding places.Mine also come to the front of the tank whenever I get within 10 ft. of the tank. They're such greedy little things...They probably think they're getting fed again!

I just started keeping fish this year... and I did have two Dwarf Gouramis. Notice that I said HAD!!! Both have died. There were no ulcers but I think they may have had internal bacterial infections( stringy white poop). I won't be getting more!
I have two Electric Yellows and Two Blue Kenyis... in a 29 gal. tank. I did do research but I misunderstood the aggression level of these fish!!! I've since done more research, and most opinions are that the 29 gal. will not work long term. Any opinions??? I really don't want to upgrade tank...
I'm new to this site.... Just thought I'd say HELLO!!! :) I began fish keeping about a year ago with a Crowntail Betta in a bowl. The Betta is in a 5 gal tank now ,and I also have a 29 gal. and a 55 gal. Hope the need for more ends soon!!! :lol:
