I got a new aquarium cleaner and I’m kinda afraid of it

This was what I wanted to understand. The order, process and thinking. This makes sense, thanks! Maybe one day again I'll have an aquarium large enough to utilize this method 👍

None of us accept the chlorine, chloramine, ammonia, nitrates, or nitrites in our water. pH and hardness are easy to adjust with off the shelf products or you can buy RO/DI units under $60 on Amazon. No excuses, IMO, not to adjust every facet of your water conditions.

I got a new aquarium cleaner and I’m kinda afraid of it

I mix my dechlorinated 7.8 tap water 50/50 with my 6.0 RO/DO water for a 6.9 pH for my aquarium. That also cuts my TDS from 400 to 200 and gives me perfect Gh and Kh. Anyway, doesn't the exposure from the chlorine and chloramine in particular hurt or stress the fish for the 5-15 minutes it takes...

Help me understand how you can add tap water to your aquarium. Ph is wrong and it's full of chlorine and chloramine. Doesn't that shock your fish?

Power consumption and what we can do to reduce it

Fortunately not here in the US. And probably not in the UK either. Our insurance covers accidents and stupidly (yours probably does too) and that would include wiring up you own electrical stuff and subsequently accidentally burning down your home. Sounds like my house! In my decade plus in my...

Power consumption and what we can do to reduce it

DIY solar is a lot of effort but can pay off. Below is a link to my install. It cost me about $3k, offsets about 10% of my energy use and saves me about $30/mo. That's a 100 month ROI, fairy typical for most solar installs. Have fun! https://diysolarforum.com/threads/diy-tesla-powerwall.6744/

You bet! Thanks! It was a really big project way more work than anticipated. Especially that zig-zag drawer! Sorted. It was just due to little/no surface agitation, a day after I made some changes. It's been a learning process for sure from the design to setup of both my tank and my...

Thank you very much. Floaters they are. Float here, float there, float everywhere! The tall shape lends itself to a distinct top, middle and bottom and it is interesting to see how my fish utilize it depending upon the time of day or their moods, etc. It's fascinating to watch them interact...
