There are no ammonia and nitrite readings anymore. But an earlier test using a quick dip test revealed nitrite in the caution zone which is why I added nitromax and did a water change. Now the tank is so extremely cloudy and I can't get it to clear up. It stinks too. I hope my cloudy tank...

Thank you. I like the view point that it's not natural. It makes things so much easier. I'm not going to get mollies anyway. But I think I'll hang on to it just in case any illnesses happens and it might come in handy.

I don't want to get confused. Would aquarium salt be more likely to be beneficial or harmful to my fish? I have 3 platies and I want to get a dwarf gourami too. I bought some salt because I read that platies do well with it. I currently have 2 tablespoons in my tank. So to keep things simple...

Thanks, I'll wait until enough water changes clear the salt from the tank before I get my gourami and if it's not necessary for platys to have salt then I won't add anymore. It's good to have someone tell me these things.

Somewhere on the internet I read that platys do better with a little salt. If this is not true please let me know so I can stop using it. I was just trying to give them optimum conditions.
