I have a german blue ram cichlid in with my guppies and they get along nicely but they are a more sensitive fish that requires closer maintenance. They tend to get more aggressive in groups but alone my one keeps to herself and leaves my guppies and tetras alone. Cool looking fish too!
I would say that they have around a week or so to go, but it could be as soon as two or three days. You'll notice their belly begin to square off towards the back of the stomach area right when they are ready to have their fry. Good luck with your soon to come babies!
I added that to the the first post. But it's a 20 gallon with the temperature set at 79 degrees. In the tank there are three zebra danios, three male endlers and 5 guppies total including her. There is also a mystery snail. As of today, there is a small red prick on her stomach, vertical to her...
No new additions. I did have a fish die yesterday, perfectly healthy looked to be about 5-6 months old compared to my 4 month fry. I did a water change and everyone else is eating and being active, even two of the heavily pregnant females. She isn't coming up to eat and sluggishly swims around...
Today when I got home I noticed one of my female guppies hanging around almost on the gravel and hidden by my two fake plants and one real plant. I thought she could be in labour but two hours later with her still in the same place made me doubt it as there are no fry.
Her stomach looks...
Quick Cure sounds like a favorite, thanks guys It's too late to go today but I'll make sure to make a stop to walmart on the way home! I don't have any substrate in the tank so hopefully a combo with the temp., salt and quick cure my fish will be able to push through.
Thanks once again!
I've had experience with ich going away with aquarium salt and raised temp. however I do think that medication is going to be required this time through. As an update, I spent a few good minutes examining all the remaining fish up closely and from what I can see, there are only two that appear...
About three weeks ago I had gotten three platys and added them to my 20 gallon with my eleven guppies. They seemed kinda off but I didn't think anything of it...that is until a few days later I noticed one of them had about three small white dots on it's tail and body. Soon enough my whole tank...
The only thing I can think of is that she may just be stressed by the males. Guppies are best kept in a 2:1 female to male ratio, I've had others say that it's even better for a 3:1 female to male ratio and considering you have it at 1:1 that may be the initial source of the problem. If you are...
I'm planning on getting fine sand for the substrate as well as a few live plants along with the plastic ones I have. I'm pretty much open to any fish but would like some colorful ones. I was thinking about dwarf gouramis but don't know how many I should get of them to keep them happy. I also...
I am upgrading my tank from a twenty gallon long to a forty gallon and was wanting to add different fish along with my twelve guppies. Any suggestions as to what fish that are compatible with guppies I can add and the amount of fish of each species? Thank you!
Have you added anything new to the water such as plants or rocks or anything? That can sometimes cause problems. Have you had any fish die previously in that tank?
Another problem might be that he is stressed for whatever reason. This is something that I have dealt with my previous two...
Yea, it would seem like it could be a tumor. I guess for now I'll just leave her in the main tank for a little while longer and see how she hold up. Her eating is perfectly fine and she is swimming and active. Maybe she will have her fry before I have to euthanize her. Thank you for your reply...
