Thanks for the replies. I called my fish supplier and he suggested the fish may have got a blister from the heater which made sense to me because that is what the injury looked like - he suggested a medicine which I couldn't get but managed to get Melafix which I have used since last Thursday...

Hi I really hope some one can help me I have come home from work to find my gourami with an open would on his side. He is about 4cm and this wound is about 5mm in diameter; don't think I have a bully in the tank so I really don't know how it happened - I just want to try and make it pain free...
