I just retested the PH, the NO2, NO3, and Ammonia and these were my results
My previous results tested on 12/31 were:
PH : 6.4
NO2 : 0ppm
NO3 : 20 ppm
Ammonia : 2.0 ppm
My new result taken 15 min ago are:
PH : 7.0
NO2 : .5ppm
NO3 : 20ppm
Ammonia : .5ppm
I think these are pretty good results...
i finally found the guy I wasn't sure about what he was he is a black banded leporinus and it seems that they eat plants too. I would love to have a tank with beautiful healthy fish and beautiful healthy plants and it seems that I can't have both lol.

No when we transferred we kept about 35 gallons of the old water and made the rest. Am I understanding right that I should never replace a filter or should I squeeze all the good stuff into the tank and then replace :/ ? I want to be a good fish owner which is why I am asking so many questions...
