    Thinking about a Planted Tank...

Hi ya. It'll be much easier on both of us if I just give you a link that has a bunch of links (The links have everything you need to know about a planted tank). Read as much as you can and then read more. A planted tank is a simple thing but it can get complicated. After you have read these...

    Starting from scratch

That looks like a good plan David. However there is one minor thing you should think about. That would be your clown loach. CLown Loaches are very very social fish. You will need to get atleast 2 more for him to be happy. Just something to think about. Rose

    background plant ideas?

How about water wisteria or water sprite. They can grow tall, do well in not greatly light tanks, hardy, get bushy and you can replant the clippings when they get too big. Rose

    How to trim plants?

For that one all ya gotta do is pick a spot on the stem and cut. Then replant the cut part in the gravel and you'll have a new plant. It really is that simple...lol Rose

    How to trim plants?

How you trim a plant will depend on the plant. If you can give us a list of plants you have we will be able to better tell you how to trim them and or replant the trimmings. If you don't know the name a pic of the plant(s) would work too. Rose

    Advice for nephew's science project

Looks good for the most part. If you can find some Crypt Wendtii of any kind those will probably work the best (at least they would for me), I can't kill them. There will be a lot of charts and water testing and so on and so forth for this project to make it a "compleate" project. I wouldn't...

    What's your favourite aquarium plant?

My fave plant is the C.wendtii. This plant I can NOT kill. I once had a some in a mini bow with a couple of fish in it. The fish eventually died. Took the fish out and burried them and about 9months later I turn on the light and it's still growing in the tank that I had forgotten...
