Is lethargy common in older bettas? my brother and I bought our bettas around 2 years ago, and they were about 4 months old when we got them. I just want to make sure that the lethargy is due to old age and how long the old men have? :unsure:

What about Honey Gouramis? My brother has kept a betta and one of them together for a year now, there was some initial posturing from the betta but they settled down within an hour.

Cyanoacrylic is good, sets in seconds and totally safe. Silicon(e?) is also totally safe but it takes 3 days to cure.

The thing is, Coldwater is usually around 17C (at least it is in my house) so it's on the lower part of a lot of Tropical Fishes temperature limit. Wouldn't put a Betta in 17C water though, my one hates me when I do a water change with cold water and it only falls to 22C :|

Should be fine, have you tried pointing it towards the glass? should take a lot of the force out of it.

Could always run the filter in distilled water?

I've been trying to breed bronze corys but they seem to have decided not to lay anymore eggs so I'm turning the fry tank (13litre glass tank with a reasonable filter for £15 from Pets at Home :o) into a tank for my betta. Trying to decide how to decorate it, would use plants however not sure...

It's supposed to be the last thing you try after cleaning and a blackout but maracyn is supposed work wonders with it. Unfortunatly it contains an anti-biotic which is controlled in the UK :(

My betta never got along with my CAE, eventually had enough when my bettas gill was damaged during a scuffle and moved the CAE to another tank. I generally don't advise anyone to buy a CAE, you can see in their Species Profile that they are aggressive when they get bigger... which is eventually...
