    African Cichlids Set Up! (video)

Sigh... there are different types. Some grow out to 5 feet or more. Mine was a baby at 3 inches and it grows to 12 inches with a maximum size of 15 inches, my local pet store breeds them. The manager showed me a few breeding pairs and they are only about a foot long.

    6 Gallon Tank

Oh yes I forgot to mention that you should test your ph and try to keep your water neutral in ph. In a mixed community tank you will have varied preferences so it is best to keep things more less neutral. You don’t want hard water for most small community fish. So I would test your water...

    6 Gallon Tank

No that is all you really need chemical wise. (Maybe a ph buffer if your ph is too high or low in the tap water, although most fish will adapted anyways.) I would recommend testing every week for the fist month before and after water changes just to find out the effect of the water changes and...

    Not So Smart Petsmart Arrggghh

Sorry--wasn't trying to bust on you--I am an avid swimmer and liked your name, thought maybe you were a swimmer too, or that your betta was a cool "freestyle" swimmer. Hey Look at my name, how boring and as far as I can tell, I can't change my user name. Take care. No worries lol, I was just...

    Blue Ram Cichlids

Sounds like a bacterial infection to me, my first ram died because of one. I would feed anti bacterial food, Isolation and waiting is a give away. (White poo? now that is strange I some internal parasites mess fish up really bad) I hope your fish gets better, blue rams are too cute to die Yes...

    6 Gallon Tank

Yes I agree they do fine with a little salt, also don't over dose your chemicals either it is really easy to do so in a small tank :) I used to change 50 percent of the water every week and clean out all of the gravel when I had my 7 gallon nano. It was a little overcrowded but my fish did fine...

Suggest Some Fish For A 20h?

Too wordy indeed, well I read... some of that lol. I think you could have summarized that a little better, but no worries. Well…you could go a few directions with that tank it sounds very nice. I would go with some angel fish or a ruby clown cichlid, or my personal favorite (south American...

    Heater Too Good?

I had a heater just like that! I lost my favorit cichlid :( the stress that it causes your fish is bad and they can get sick. I would recomend getting a refund. My heater had a little switch that turned off and on depending on what the water temperature was, if your water temp is all over the...

    My New Fish Tank

first most plecs are big waste producers so having a bristlenose isn't really helping-they may get rid of algea but you have to deal with the extra poop. They may also get stunted in a small tank. They don't only need a "small piece of wood". I don't even think they eat wood- they need a proper...
