One of my Electric Yellow labs is getting dark and most of the day it is face down into the air bubbles. Why would it do this? It is the only one acting weird.
I have a 300w Fluval heater in my 55 gallon Mbuna tank. When I wake up in the morning it is flashing red and saying it is 82.5 degrees. I have it set at 79.It has been getting very cold at night plus the lights are off. Why does the temp spike?
I have yellow labs, red zebras, maingano, and spotted cats in my 55 gallon. Can I put loaches or snails with them? I'm thinking ghost shrimp would be a bad idea..
My tank is cycled and will have my fish tomorrow. We had a hurricane here and power went out twice for 12+ hours at a time. I let the bio wheels and filter pads float in the tank so they wouldn't dry out. What should I watch for if my cycle gets interupted from this?
I have an API hardness test kit. I'm not really sure how to use it. It says count the drops when it gets a certain shade but does not have a chart to match up like thier other test kits.
The nitrite is being processed in the 12 hours also. I just didnt think it would shoot up after I ad ammonia. After 12 hours I check the ammonia and nitrite and both are zero. Does it sound like it is cycled? If not then what am I looking out for?
My tank has been cycling and the last couple days it has been processing 4ppm ammonia in 12 hours. When the ammonia is 0,the Nitrites are also 0. I ad ammonia back to 4ppm and if I check like 5 hours later the Nitrite is sky high. Why does the Nitrite keep spiking?
I have been doing a fishless cycle for about a week and a half. I brought the ammonia up to 4ppm 2 days ago. Now it is back to about 0,Nitrite is over 5ppm,and Nitrate is up around 100ppm. I just brought the ammonia back up. Should I be concerned about the other levels?
I started my fishless cycle on 8/11 on my 55 gallon. I accidentaly added too much ammonia to 8ppm so did some water changes to get it to 4ppm. The ammonia hasn't gone down much. It is down to about 1ppm now,PH is 7.6,Nitrite is off the chart,I have some nitrates. I had also used media from...
