    Sudden change in fish behaviour

@Naughts @GaryE Thank you, an electrical fault did come to mind. I will have a look at my equipment soon as I can. I noticed that the fish seemed better this morning before the tank lights came on. They seemed frightened again after the tank lights came on. So I've turned off the tank lights to...

    Sudden change in fish behaviour

@GaryE Thanks for your reply, I think I'll do 70-80% water change in the morning. I hope that will help them. I'd rather do a water change and it do nothing, than to worry about not having done one. The tank has been running a long time, and the fish aren't new either. So I doubt it's disease...

    Sudden change in fish behaviour

Hello, I'm hoping somebody might have some insights into what is happening with my fish. I have a 75g with 40 tiger barbs and they have always been the most outgoing, friendly and active fish. Today I noticed they are behaving as if they are frightened and just hiding behind the plants at...

Co2: No idea where to begin. Kits?

Thank you very much, this is good advice! Yes, the less main stream a piece of kit is in Ireland the more extortionate the price is. It's because everything gets heavy tax travelling through the UK, which left the EU as I'm sure you know. The demand for stuff like pH controllers in Ireland is...

Co2: No idea where to begin. Kits?

Thank you Jim, I actually really struggled to source the bits I got without an insane mark up already. The only full kit option I can find which delivers to where I live in Ireland, would cost me €500 with shipping. With the stuff I ordered I'm only paying about €350 including shipping. I had...

Co2: No idea where to begin. Kits?

Is this the kind of valve you mean? I can order these Also this is what the regulator I chose looks like. When looking for an image of it, I saw this second image which looks like a solenoid connected to it directly. I hope my Milwaukee solenoid will connect to the regulator which is a...

Co2: No idea where to begin. Kits?

Hello! I've ordered what I think I'll need for my co2 set up, I was hoping anyone can confirm I'm not missing things. I've only ordered a small disposable co2 cylinder but I plan to get a bigger refillable one when this runs out. - Dual gauge regulator (JBL advanced) - solenoid (Milwaukee) -...

Help to identify green algae on the water's surface, for a friend's tank

@Uberhoust @MaloK Thank you! I've asked him to make sure it's algae and not water meal, and I've recommended those steps to reduce light and nutrients

Help to identify green algae on the water's surface, for a friend's tank

Hello! A friend of mine has recently got into the freshwater side of fish keeping (only marine prior) and has this algae floating on the water surface. I have already recommended more surface agitation, and he has gotten an air stone and air pump in the last day or so. I don't have any ammonia...

Co2: No idea where to begin. Kits?

Yes, thanks. This 75g has been running for over 8 months with fish now, including 6 months with the exact fish I'll be using. I won't be starting a tank, just a heavy rescape and starting co2 😁 I generally understand how ph effects fish and I will of course be introducing the co2 slowly but I...
