I think I know why its happened, my corys gave birth when i moved them in and i moved the eggs to a fry net in the tank but but only a few surived. i think thats when things started to go wrong. Ok thanks Miss Wiggle

Ive done a 50% change yesterday and a 20% today and its came down to 6ish maybe a little lower from a 7.9 shall i do another 50% change again ?

How do i lower my amonia levels. I lost 4 fish last night and have just checked the amonia level and found that the level ia about a 6 on the Nutrafin test kit (Lets just say the water went orange) Urgent help greatfully needed. :-(

Well I went out and got a fry net moved as many egg as I could and guess what I now have about 100 ish baby fish cool eh !! I popped to Maidenhead Aquatics and got some fry food they also said that if i could get them to a sellable size they would take them and give me credit.

All this is really good info :D It's also nice to see a difference of opinion too.

Basicly with regards to plants which is best Plastic or Real ?

I have one of these pumps too. As already been said its for aeration of the water as it draws air in from this valve and no out thus it cannot be used for underwater aeration. You can get it to make a lot less noise of you twist the rubber cap ever so slightly until there is some aeration going...

I have 2 Corydoras Aeneus which I have had for just over a year in a small tank Ive recently moved them to a larger tank and I now have a about 200 eggs plastered over the glass. I have never seen this before so its new to me. Is there anything special I have to do? should I leave them there?

You could be right regarding the light shock as its on a timer so turns on at about 3 pm when we're at work. maybe its a bit much shame you cant get a dimmer switch for it. :) I must admit it is only the Rams, Corydoras and Shrimp that are a bit shy. Thanks for the help.

Hi Both, I ran the tank for a good 3 weeks taking the water from the old tank and moving it to the new tank. I also stripped the old media down (quickly as not to loose anything) and moved it to the new filter I hope this was good enough? I must admit there isnt much in the way of rock cover...
